Rita Reichel Popovich, 66, of McMurray, died at 4:25 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 1998. Mrs. Popovich was a member of St. Benedict the Abbott Roman Catholic Church in McMurray. She was a member of the League of Women Voters and a Democratic committeewoman in Peters Township. She also was a member of Moose Lodge of Washington. She had been a resident of McMurray for the past 42 years. Before her retirement, Mrs. Popovich was a residential service aide at Western Center and Mayview State Hospital. Surviving are three sons, Joseph Gene Popovich Jr. of McMurray, Paul David Popovich of Bethel Park, and Bruce Daniel Popovich of White Oak; a daughter, Christina Popovich Bomba of McMurray; three brothers, Stanley J. Reichel Jr. and Albert H. Reichel Sr. both of Monongahela, and Joseph P. Reichel of Ashtabula, Ohio; a sister, Marcella Reichel Skurski of Canonsburg; three grandchildren, Daniel Joseph Popovich, Jennifer Louise and Leonard Ducouer; and many nieces and nephews.
