Douglas S. Nettle, 82, of Englewood, Colo., formerly of Washington, died Wednesday, December 9, 1998. Mr. Nettle was city health officer for Washington for 24 years before retiring and moving to Colorado. He was a member of American Legion Post 175 of Washington; BPOE Elks Lodge 776, Syria Temple of Pittsburgh; Washington Lodge 164 F&AM; Shrine Club of Englewood; and was a Mally Center Board member. He served four years in the U.S. Army Air Force. Mr. Nettle was a member of First United Presbyterian Church of Washington and was an associate member of Emmanuel Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Flora; a daughter, Bonnie of Denver, Colo.; a granddaughter, Amy; a stepgranddaughter, Alice; and one stepgreat-grandchild. Interment was in Fort Logan, Denver.
