Floyd D. Thomas Sr., 76, of East Finley Drive, Claysville, died at 10:23 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 1998, in Washington Hospital. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Thomas was a truck driver for 40 years. He had worked for Besl Trucking. Mr. Thomas was a member of Harvest Time Chapel of Canonsburg, where he served as trustee and treasurer, and he had formerly been affiliated with East Finley Church of God, where he served as treasurer. He was a 1940 graduate of Claysville High School. On February 15, 1947, he married Erma Jean Breese, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Floyd D. Thomas Jr. of West Alexander and Wayne Lee Thomas of Beckley, W.Va.; two daughters, Marilyn J. Hines and Ruth Ann Menhart, both of Claysville; three brothers, Owen Thomas of Bradenton, Fla., and Gerald Thomas and Paul E. Thomas, both of Claysville; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Chad, Gretchen, Nathan, Matthew and Kayla; four stepgrandchildren, Darin, Shannon, Melanie and Kristin; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
