G. Albert Cole, 84, of Washington, died at 4:50 p.m. Monday, December 14, 1998, in Washington Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Cole was a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church, Washington, where he was an elder, sang in the choir and for several years was a custodian. He was a graduate of Rogersville High School and worked as a machinist at Tri-State Engineering and Penn Manufacturing. He enjoyed music, dartball, bowling, hunting and golf. Mr. Cole volunteered and sang at many local nursing homes. On August 15, 1941, he married Helen L. Belford, who survives and with whom he recently celebrated their 57th anniversary. Also surviving are three sons, Ronald A. Cole of Amity, Rick Cole of Perrysburg, Ohio, and Carroll Cole of Canonsburg; two daughters, Nell Kretzschmar of Lafayette, Ind., and Jacqueline Barre of Martins Ferry, Ohio; a sister, Betty C. Dille of Washington; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Deceased are two sisters, Dorothy Marie Loughman and Mildred Cole.
