David D. Roney

Former Claysville resident was civil engineer
David D. Roney, 66, a 28-year resident of Pleasanton, Calif., formerly of Claysville, died Friday, December 11, 1998, in Pleasanton.

He was born November 3, 1932, in Washington, a son of Charles and Rosa Dunlap Roney.
Mr. Roney was a member of Presbyterian Community Church in Pleasanton.
A 1951graduate of Claysville High School, he received his bachelor of science degree from Penn State University in 1955.
He served in the U.S. Army as a lieutenant in the Corps of Engineers and was stationed in England.
Mr. Roney was employed as a civil engineer with CBI Services for 42 years, until his retirement in 1995.
He enjoyed hiking and traveling.
On June 20, 1964, in New Albany, Ind., he married Constance M. Fendall, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Collette E. and Heather L. Roney, both of Washington, D.C.; a brother, John Edwin Roney of Claysville; a sister, Dorothy Curtis of Cincinnati, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
