H. Leonard Frye

Former teacher in Jefferson-Morgan schools
H. Leonard Frye, 69, of Waynesburg R.D.1, died at 12:10 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 1998, in Washington Hospital.

He was born March 6, 1929, in Delmont, a son of Arthur Z. and Edna Mae Anderson Frye.
He was a graduate of Waynesburg College with a degree in education. He taught business education at the high school level at California and later in Jefferson-Morgan School District, where the majority of his teaching occurred.
In addition to teaching, Mr. Frye raised purebred polled Hereford cattle. He had served as secretary/treasurer of the former Greene County Purebred Breeders. He was assistant livestock superintendent for the Greene County Fair for several years and was a former leader for the 4-H Beef and Lamb Club and clerked their sales for several years.
He was active in the Republican Party and had served as chairman of the county party for several years.
Mr. Frye was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesburg.
On April 10, 1952, he married Betty Lee Cole, who died October 17, 1986.
Surviving are a son, Thomas A. Frye of Waynesburg R.D.1; a granddaughter, Caroline Grace Frye; and a brother, Arthur Z. Frye Jr. of Scottsdale, Ariz.
