Fredericktown bookkeeper active in community
Elene Rendina Pellegrine, 82, of Fredericktown, died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 1998, in Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

She was born August 8, 1916, in Herbert, a daughter of Joseph and Savina Masciarelli Rendina.
Mrs. Pellegrine was a member of the Parish of St. Oliver Plunkett.
She was a secretary and bookkeeper for the former Diamond Coal Co. in Masontown, Dewey's Auto Service of Fredericktown and her husband's real estate enterprises.
Mrs. Pellegrine was a former active member of Fredericktown Women's Civic Club, having served several years in all elected offices, a member of the American Federation of Women's Clubs, a civil defense warden, the board of elections minority inspector for more than 25 years, a former volunteer for the ladies auxiliary of Brownsville General Hospital, a member of the ladies auxiliary of Hanson-Cole American Legion Post 391 of Fredericktown, Washington co-chairman for the American Heart Association, a volunteer for the March of Dimes and American Cancer Society, a charter member and officer of Beth-Center Senior Citizens and one of the original volunteers for the establishment of WQED, Channel 13, Pittsburgh.
On February 15, 1941, she married Anthony Dewey Pellegrine, who died September 30, 1986.
Surviving are a son, A. Dewey Pellegrine of Fredericktown; a daughter, Donna Lee Stone of Fredericktown; a granddaughter, Dana Elene Stone of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Margaret Matthews of Oceanside, Calif.; a brother, Jerry Rendina of Masontown; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are four sisters, Gina Tucci, Edith Bonito and Elsie Bianco and Claire Manchel; and two brothers, Lendo Rendina and Albert Rendina, who died in infancy.
