Elizabeth (Betty) Pettit, 66, of Lynn Haven, Fla., died Thursday, December 3, 1998, in Bay Medical Center, Panama City, Fla.. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary 0235-Fort Walton Beach and a member of Laureate Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, where she held several offices and served on numerous committees. The sorority honored her as Valentine Ball queen and Woman of the Year. Surviving are her husband, Austin "Gene" Pettit; her stepmother, Evyln Farabe of Washington; two sons, Kent Pettit of Vail, Colo., and Karl Pettit of Washington; a brother, Kenneth Farabe of Denver; two grandchildren, Ashley and Nicholas Pettit; and two stepgrandchildren, Benjamin and Gabrielle Walford.
