E. Frances Lindley

Retired teacher from Eighty Four
E. Frances Lindley, 92, formerly of Eighty Four (Somerset Township) and Canonsburg, died Friday, December 4, 1998, in Country Meadows Nursing Center, Bridgeville.

She was born November 17, 1906, near Eighty Four, a daughter of John A. and Esther Noble Riggle.
Mrs. Lindley lived in the Eighty Four area most of her life, where she was a member of Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church and its women's association.
She was a retired school teacher and taught in North Strabane and Somerset townships and Immaculate Conception schools, retiring in 1960.
On June 28, 1934, she married H. Merle Lindley, who died June 5, 1987.
Surviving are a daughter, Janet L. VanKirk of Bridgeville; two grandchildren, Mark E. VanKirk of Scenery Hill and Lisa VanKirk-Taylor of Bridgeville; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three brothers, Roy, Howard and Guy Riggle; and two sisters, Helen Smrekar and Gladys Riggle.
