George M. Zamiska, 82, of Scenery Drive, Richeyville, died unexpectedly Sunday, February 8, 1998, in Brownsville General Hospital's emergency room. Mr. Zamiska attended St. Clements School (now Ave Maria School) in Ellsworth. He worked at J&L Steel Corp.'s LaBelle Mine processing plant as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator. He served with the U.S. Army as a sergeant during World War II. Mr. Zamiska was a member of St. Agnes Church in Richeyville, UMWA Local 762 and the James G. Blaine VFW Post 4 of West Brownsville. Surviving are a son, Albert J. Zamiska of Beallsville; two daughters, Georgia Mousourakis of Silver Lake, Wis., and Judy K. Gudel of Daisytown; 11 grandchildren, Jeffrey D., Jason D., Justin A. and Jessica R. Zamiska, Mark A., Gary W. and Kimberly A. Mousourakis, Amy Brudnik Gudel, Scott, Jill and David Gudel; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are his wife, Rose Ann Patsik Zamiska, who died February 26, 1991; a brother, Tom "Barney" Zamiska; and three sisters, Anna Wall, Mary Ivcic and Catherine Zamiska.
