Eugene T. Ruttle, 84, of Bethel Park, died Sunday, February 8, 1998, at Allegheny General Hospital. Mr. Ruttle was a graduate of The Missouri School of Mines; was employed by the Mathies Coal Co., later Consolidated Coal Co.; and retired from the U.S. Bureau of Mines in 1976. He was a member of St. Valentine Church for more than 50 years, where he took part in many activities including ushering, the Men's Club and senior citizens group. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Loretta Fithian Ruttle; four daughters, Betty Keister of Marlborough, Conn., Mary Lou Ruttle of Pittsburgh, Phyllis Jaworski of Hope Mills, N.C., and Dorothy Ruttle of Canonsburg; two grandsons, Jeff and Scott Jaworski; three brothers, Gilbert Ruttle of Shreveport, La., Raymond Ruttle of Fort Smith, Ariz., and Robert Ruttle of Belleville, Ill.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
