Lois Marie Cassels, 85, of Inman, S.C., died Monday, February 9, 1998, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington. Mrs. Cassels was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Cool Branch Baptist Church, the Women's Missionary Union and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Coleman Lodge. She was first married to James Edward Hood Sr., who died November 7, 1978. In 1980, she married William Robert Cassels Sr., who died September 16, 1982. Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth H. Todd of Eighty Four and Peggy Stacy of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Deceased are her son, James Edward Hood Jr., and a sister, Lossie S. Holland. Funeral services will take place at Cool Branch Baptist Church, Blair, S.C., with burial in the Cool Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Covenant, Washington, at a time and date to be announced later.
