Oscar E. Jeffers, 79, of McGovern Road, Houston, died Sunday, February 8, 1998, at Allegheny University Hospitals, Canonsburg. Mr. Jeffers was a retired truck driver, having been employed by Pyramid Oil Co. He was a social member of the Bears Club in Meadow Lands and was a member of Meadow Lands Sportsmens Club. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of VFW Post 927, Washington. On November 13, 1939, he married Cecelia Buchte, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Oscar E. Jeffers Jr. of Altamonte Springs, Fla., Jeffrey Z. Jeffers of Douglas, Wyo.; a daughter, Laurel Y. Cameron of Weirton, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family. Eight brothers and three sisters are deceased.
