Word has been received of the death of Thomas H. "Tip" Thistlethwaite, 81, of Philadelphia, who died February 1, 1998, after a lengthy illness. Surviving are a son, Alan J. Thistlethwaite of Bala Cynwyd; a daughter, Dale Thistlethwaite of Philadelphia; a brother, Dick Thistlethwaite of Jeffferson. Deceased are his wife, Doris Ruhland Thistlethwaite; and three brothers, J. Eli Thistlethwaite, Clyde Thistlethwaite and Harold Thistlethwaite. Burial was Feb. 7 in Philadelphia.
