Norma Jean Tedrow Milliken Hlipala, 57, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Waynesburg, died at 6:30 a.m. Friday, February 13, 1998, in UPMC-Beaver Valley Hospital, following a brief illness.

She was born June 11, 1940, in Richhill Township, a daughter of the late Cecil Edward and Thelma Margaret Kerr Tedrow.
Mrs. Hlipala resided in Waynesburg, East View and Rio Rancho, N.M., prior to moving to the Pittsburgh area in 1997.
She was a former member of East View United Methodist Church and a member of Mesa Baptist Temple in Rio Rancho, N.M.
Mrs. Hlipala was a founding member of Greene County Association of Retarded Citizens and was an active volunteer with the Special Olympics while residing in New Mexico.
She was a 1959 graduate of Waynesburg High School and attended Waynesburg College and Case-Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio.
She was a former employee of WVU Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., as a ward clerk where she received an Outstanding Service Award for 10 years of service. She was last employed as a residential instructor for the Association of Retarded Citizens of Albuquerque, N.M. for six years.
Surviving are two daughters, Christy Milliken of Pittsburgh, with whom she made her home, and Cynthia Blake of Charleston, W.Va.; two sons, Michael Hlipala of Pittsburgh and Steven Mark Hlipala of Bobtown; a sister, Shirley Mae Bauer of Glenshaw; a brother, William Harold Tedrow of Mt. Sterling, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Joshua Hlipala, Luke and Mason Blake.
Deceased are her first husband, Dale L. Milliken; three brothers, Hubert Tedrow, Cecil E. Tedrow Jr. and Benjamin Tedrow; and a sister, Patricia Tedrow, who died in infancy.
