Gertrude I. Doman, 93, of 658 Wilmington Avenue, died at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 1998, in Elyria, Ohio, at the home of her daughter, Sharon Kozel, after a brief illness. Mrs. Doman taught school at the former Hayes Avenue School, Canton Township, in 1925 and 1926, before devoting all of her time to her family. On July 29, 1926, she married George W. Doman who died April 20, 1994. Surviving are six daughters, Audrey Gordon of Santa Barbara, Calif., Beverly Scott of Washington, Jacqueline Meadows, Marlene Blair and Sharon Kozel all of Elyria, Ohio, and Rolene Plants of Avella; four sons, Lawrence Duane Doman and Bruce Wetherald Doman, both of Elyria, John William Doman of Niceville, Fla., and Charles Ronald Doman at home; a sister, Olive Anderson of Batesville, Ark.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Deceased are two sons, Walter L. and Robert Dwight Doman; an infant daughter; and a brother, Charles R. Filby.
