Samuel Del Pizzo, 79, a former resident of Ashtabula, Ohio, died Sunday, February 15, 1998, in Burt Fish Hospital of New Smyrna Beach, Fla. Mr. Del Pizzo was a former resident of Canonsburg and a graduate of Canonsburg High School. He retired from Union Carbide of Ashtabula, was a former member of Mother of Sorrows Church in Ashtabula and Sacred Heart Church of New Smyrna Beach, where he sang in the choir of both churches and a member of Knights of Columbus as a former grand knight and fourth degree knight. Mr. Del Pizzo enjoyed travel, gardening and golf. Surviving are his wife, Virginia; two sons, Leslie of Dublin, Ohio, and Larry of Newton Falls, Ohio; a stepson, Randall Force; three stepdaughters, Cindy Goebel, Jacqulyne Alderman and Patricia Robinson; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jeanette Rice of Denmark and Julianne Digangi of Ashtabula. Deceased are his first wife, Elizabeth; and a brother, Falco Del Pizzo. Services will be held Friday in Ashtabula.
