Edward Joseph Lewis, 85, of Canonsburg, formerly of Mount Ranier, Md., died Tuesday, February 17, 1998, at Washington County Health Center following a brief illness. Mr. Lewis was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Washington. He was retired from B&O Railroad, where he was a mechanic for more than 40 years. He had attended Washington D.C. schools. In 1932, he married Mary Cecelia Vanneman, who died November 5, 1983. Surviving are two daughters, Ursula M. Geisler of Scenery Hill and Veronica M. Harkins of Birmingham, Ala.; one sister, Agnes Gammon of Riverdale, Md.; nine grandchildren, Shirley Antill, Vicki Chandler, Robert, Richard and William Turney, Rob, Kerry, Maria and Brandon Harkins; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
