Alberta Green Stewart, 89, of Bridgeville, formerly of Carnegie and Sutersville, died Saturday, January 31, 1998, in St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon. She was a 1937 graduate of the California Normal School, and she later earned her masters in Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Mrs. Stewart formerly taught in the Sewickley Township schools and later was employed by the Bureau of Mines in Library. She was also a librarian for the medical department at the University of Pittsburgh and for the engineering library at Carnegie Mellon University prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church and a member and past matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Miriam Chapter No. 175 in West Newton. Surviving are two stepchildren, Roger Stewart of West Newton and Jean Blankman of New Jersey; four stepgrandchildren; a sister, Ashley Cornelius of Stewart, Fla.; and two brothers, Kendall Green of Nekoosa, Wis., and Jack Green of Houston. Deceased are her husband, Alfred Stewart; a sister, Helen Chambers; and two brothers, Harry and Thomas Oscar Green.
