Thomas C. Welch, 77, of Pompano Beach, Fla., died Friday, January 30, 1998. Mr. Welch moved to Florida in 1955 with his wife, Virginia, who died in 1974. During World War II, he served in as a B-24 bombardier navigator. Before he retired in 1968, he had become a Major. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, where he served as director of Cadet Programs, FL Wing and commander of Pompano Beach Cadet Squadron. From 1958 until his retirement in 1986, Mr. Welch was an electrical contractor, who owned Lawson Electric in Boca Raton. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Boca-Delray 171. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pompano Beach. Survivors are a son, Robert Welch; two daughters, Diane Douillette and Letha Stack; and three grandchildren, Jennifer, Steven and Taylor Thomas.
