Ruth N. Croxton Kennell, 82, of Washington, died at 10:30 p.m. Friday, January 30, 1998, in the Washington Hospital emergency room. She had been employed as a cook at the former George Washington Hotel for 35 years. She later worked at Washington Hospital as a cook for nine years. She was member of Washington Christian Misssionary Alliance. She was married twice. Her first husband, Edgar H. Croxton, is deceased. Her second husband, Harry W. Kennell, died May 25, 1967. Surviving are a son, the Rev. David A. Croxton of York; a brother, Paul Thompson of Washington; a sister, Florence Riggs of Washington; two grandchildren, Pamela J. Croxton and Deborah Stratton; two great-grandsons; several stepchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
