Donald W. "Tadpole" Levers, 66, of Mark Avenue in Washington, died at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, February 1, 1998, in Washington Hospital, following a three-week illness. He was a graduate of Washington High School. During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army in Alaska. Mr. Levers was formerly employed by McGraw-Edison, by Cappelli's Beer Distributorship as salesman and by the Maxwell House as bartender. His wife, Gertrude "Trudy" Welsh, died May 7, 1997. Surviving are three sons, Charles Lee Levers of Washington, Stephen John Levers of Washington and Donald Frederick Levers of Claysville; two stepsons, Richard Welsh Jr. and Douglas Welsh, both of Washington; a daughter, Sally Levers Boardley of Washington; two stepdaughters, Kimberly Newman of Meadow Lands and Lynelle Teagarden of Nemacolin; three brothers, Marion Levers of Claysville, Bob Levers of Washington and Jack Levers of California; 13 grandchildren, William, Michael, Miranda, Douglas, Pam, Tiffany, Jasmine, Nicole, Lynn, Sharon, Brandon, Tawyne and Johnnie. Deceased are two sisters, Flossie Strope and Lillian Carroll; and three brothers, Fred, James and Austin "Fireball" Levers.
