Thomas J. Balaban Jr., 68, of Carmichaels, died Tuesday, February 24, 1998, in UPMC Presbyterian. Mr. Balaban was a retired coal miner at Humphrey No. 7 Mine, Osage, W.Va. and was a member of the UMW Local 1085 of Osage. He was also a member of St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church of Carmichaels. On August 23, 1958, he married Dolores Natale Balaban, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Pam Balaban of Carmichaels and Cindy Balaban of Waynesburg; two brothers, Samuel Balaban of Dunbar and Joseph Balaban of Connellsville; and two sisters, Mildred Balaban and Rose Marie Adamsky, both of Dunbar.
