Valentine DeTemple, 70, of Strabane, died Monday, February 23, 1998, in Allegheny University Hospitals, Canonsburg. Mr. DeTemple lived his entire life in Strabane and was Catholic. Prior to retirement he was a welder at the former Fort Pitt Bridge Works in Canonsburg. Mr. DeTemple was a member of SNPJ Lodge 138 of Strabane; the Moose Lodge 127 of Canonsburg; and VFW Post 553 of Strabane. On September 14, 1963, he married Frances L. "Dolly" Neidrick, who died March 8, 1991. Surviving are a son, Valentine J. DeTemple, at home; two brothers, Joseph DeTemple of Washington and John DeTemple of Lakeworth, Fla.; two sisters, Sue Hixenbaugh of Burgettstown and Fran Regelman of Brentwood, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
