Nelva W. Thomas, 80, of Washington, died Tuesday, February 24, 1998, in the Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington, after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Thomas attended the Washington school system, and after the death of her mother, she moved to Philadelphia to live with her aunt, Leona Johnson. She eventually returned to Washington to live with her stepparents, Morgan and Evon Thomas. She was a member of St. Paul AME Church and was an active member of the Stewardess Board of the Church. On January 6, 1941, she married R. Archie Thomas, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Alan Raymond Thomas; two grandchildren, Malcolm Raymond and Khalilah Thomas; a sister, June Prout of Philadelphia; and a niece whom she raised, Yvonne Denson.
