Thomas Allen Douglas, 70, of St. Augustine, Fla., died Monday, February 23, 1998, at St. Luke Hospital, Jacksonville, Fla. He was president and owner of Douglas Freight Salvage Co., Miami. He was a member of Chartiers Lodge No. 297, F&AM in Canonsburg, and a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies. He held memberships in several Shrine Clubs, including St. Augustine Shrine and was past-potentate of Mahi Temple in Miami. He was a member of the Royal Order of Jesters, St. Augustine Elks Lodge 829 and Memorial Presbyterian Church in St. Augustine. He was married to Jane Rhea Douglas, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Steven A. Douglas and Brian A. Douglas, both of Miami and Kirk A. Douglas of St. Augustine; two sisters, Mary Sherwood of Plantation, Fla., and Joan Taper of Canonsburg; and nine grandchildren. Services and interment will be held in St. Augustine. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Shriners' Hospitals for Crippled Children, 12502 North Pine Drive, Tampa, FL 33612-9499.
