Ella R. Hanes, 87, of 24 Abbot Road, Bradford, died Saturday, January 31, 1998, at her daughter's residence in Rochester, N.Y. On March 12, 1942, in Bradford, she married Lyle Hanes, who died October 15, 1982. Mrs. Hanes is a 1928 graduate of Bradford High School and a 1933 graduate of Indiana State Teachers College. Upon graduation she returned to Bradford and taught for several years in the Bradford school system. She was a member of the East End Presbyterian Church, where she was also a Sunday school teacher, an elder and a member of the missionary society. She was a member of the Bradford Chapter 61 Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann Allen of Rochester; a son, George Hanes of Claysville; two stepgrandchildren; a sister, Marian Beyler of Bradford; and several nieces and nephews.
