Gus Pihakis, 62, of Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Canonsburg, died unexpectedly Monday, February 2, 1998, in Pensacola of an apparent heart attack. Prior to his retirement, he was a restauranteur, owning and operating restaurants in Atlanta, Ga., and Pensacola. He was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of Pensacola and had served with the U.S. Marines during the Korean conflict. Surviving are his wife, Photine "FoFo" Pihakis; a daughter, Anna Sophia Pihakis of Atlanta; three brothers, Louis Pihakis of Pensacola, Jamo Pihakis of Birmingham, Ala., and Manual Pihakis of Canonsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
