Sara "Sally" Gladys Shriver, 79, of Rogersville, died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 1998, in the Franklin Medical Center, Waynesburg, after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Shriver had lived in Greene County all her life and was a member of the Rogersville United Methodist Church where she formerly served as youth leader and member of the choir. She was a former den mother with the Rogersville Cub Scouts, a former member of Harvey's Grange 1444 and the Rebecca Lodge of Waynesburg. Mrs. Shriver was a graduate of the Washington Hospital School of Nursing and was employed as a registered nurse at the former Curry Memorial Home for eight years prior to her retirement in 1976. On September 23, 1940, she married William Bennett Shriver, who died December 24, 1988. Surviving are two daughters, Louetta Gordon of Berlin Center, Ohio, and Carolyn Camino of Columbia, N.C.; a son, John W. Shriver of Triangle, Va.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
