William C. Wilson, 80, of Donnan Avenue, Washington, a former Washington city councilman, died at 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 6, 1998, in Presbyterian Medical Center Washington, following a three-month illness. Mr. Wilson was first elected to council in 1963 and re-elected in 1967. In 1971, he forfeited the opportunity to run for nomination again in favor of a crack at the mayorship. He lost in the Democratic primary. He also served as a member of the Washington School Board. Mr. Wilson began managing theaters in 1948, and was promoted to district manager for the Basle Co. in 1956. He continued managing theaters, including the Penn Theater in Washington, for 22 years. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, a 1935 graduate of Washington High School, and was employed at Jessop Steel Co. during World War II as a ballistics inspector. For a number of years he owned and operated his own sign business. On July 12, 1935, he married Kathryne Elizabeth Moore, who died May 22, 1989. Surviving are a son, Charles Stanley Wilson of Syracuse, N. Y.; two sisters, Twila Wagner and Jeannine Montecalvo, both of Washington; a grandson, Charles Stanley Wilson II; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a brother, Fred Duane Wilson.
