The Rev. Allen R. Middleton, 72, of 125 Venus Circle, Freedom, died Tuesday, January 6, 1998, in University Hospital, Augusta, Ga., after a brief illness while vacationing.
He was pastor of the First Baptist Church of Westland for 27 years and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from Crucible Steel Co.'s Colt Industries of Midland after 42 years of service during which he held the position of foreman for 15 years.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 50 years, Shirley Waldron Middleton; a son, Allen Middleton Jr. of Augusta, Ga.; a sister, Bernice Dickey of Midland; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers.
