Catherine R. Perry, 71, of Turnersville, N.J., died Wednesday, January 7, 1998.
Mrs. Perry was a graduate of Presbyterian School of Nursing in Pittsburgh and attended the University of Pittsburgh and was a graduate of Glassboro State College.
She taught nursing in South Side Hospital in Pittsburgh and was an industrial nurse for Westinghouse for the U.S. Nautilus Atomic Submarine. She was also a Red Cross nurse in the Korean War and was a school nurse in Washington Township for 20 years. She retired in 1991.
Mrs. Perry was a member of the Gloucester County Nurses/N.J. Nurses Association. She went to Disney World with eight senior classes as the school nurse and attended Washington Township band trips to Canada and Virginia. She had a tree planted in her memory at Birches School in Washington Township. She was honored by the mayor and Washington Township School Board on her retirement.
Surviving is her husband of 49 years, Edward B. Perry; a daughter, Holly Battiste of Barrington, N. J.; a son, Edward J. Perry of McLean, Va.; a granddaughter, Hannah Battiste; a brother, Albert Rizzo of New Hope; and a sister, Mary Kahny of Princeton, N.J.
