Althea B. Swift, 71, of Washington, formerly of Carmichaels and Nemacolin, died at 10:08 p.m. Friday, January 9, 1998, at the Washington home of her son, Gerald E. "Buck" Swift, after a three-month illness.
Mrs. Swift was a graduate of Monongahela Township High School.
She had resided with her son for the past two months.
On October 25, 1946, she married Walter F. Swift, who died October 21, 1972.
Surviving are two sons, Gary L. Swift of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Gerald E. "Buck" Swift of Washington; five grandchildren, Gerald E. Jr., Jeffrey A., Brian and Shari Swift and Chad Groves; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Freda Sweeney of Carmichaels; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Isaac Rumble; and a sister, T. Kathryn Homrock.
