Wayne S. Ward, 82, of Washington, died at 12:40 a.m. Sunday, January 11, 1998, in Washington Hospital, after a brief illness.
Mr. Ward attended Trinity High School before entering the U.S. Army for service during World War II.
He worked at the Irvin Works of U.S. Steel until his retirement and was a member of United Steelworkers Union Local 2227.
On November 19, 1947, he married Bertha B. Kopko Ward, who died on their 50th wedding anniversary in 1997.
Surviving are a son, Darrell W. Ward of Canonsburg; a daughter, Donna Lytle of Heathrow, Fla.; a stepson, Richard D. Kopko of Washington; a brother, Randall "Ike" Ward of Washington; two sisters, Martha of Oregon and Peggy of Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three brothers, John, Kenneth and Leo; and three sisters, Betty, Libby and Virginia.
