Charles S. Dailey, 79, of Claysville, died Tuesday, January 20, 1998, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center, Washington. Mr. Dailey was Protestant. He was a graduate of Ashland High School, Knox, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Dailey was employed by Columbia Gas Co. for 30 years until his retirement in 1981 and was a member of its Quarter Century Club. He was past master of the Claysville Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and a member of Claysville American Legion James R. Hunt Post 639. Mr. Dailey served as a member of Claysville Borough Council and McGuffey School Board, He enjoyed gardening. On September 20, 1946, in Shippensville, he married Marion E. Caldwell, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Roger Dailey of Salem, Ohio, and Wayne Dailey at home; two grandsons, Charles and Mark Dailey; two stepgrandchildren, Rodney and Erica Sailer; and three great-grandchildren.
