Mary E. Harrower, 83, of 313 Green Street, Houston, died Friday, January 30, 1998, in Allegheny University Hospitals, Canonsburg. Mrs. Harrower was a 1933 graduate of Cecil High School and was employed as head cook for Allison Elementary School in Houston for many years. She later worked as dietary manager for South Hills Convalescent Center. She was a member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, where she served as deacon, and a member of Chartiers Chapter 97 Order of Eastern Star. On August 9, 1939, she married James Harrower, who died July 28, 1976. Surviving are three daughters, Mary L. Davis and Doris Krobot, both of South Fayette and Emily Homitz of Washington; seven grandchildren, Kristin Banish, Kerrie Turner, Bradley and Michael Davis, Rebecca Homitz and James and John Krobot; and four great-grandchildren. She was born December 25, 1914, in Hopedale, Ohio, a daughter of Pascoe and Lillian Lucas Copeland.
