Jane Lorraine Nicholls, 62, of Merrillville, Ind., formerly of Washington, died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 1998, in the Mid Michigan Medical Center, Midland, Mich. She had been employed by Sears for 17 years and was last employed by the Washington Hospital for 15 years in the nutritional services department, retiring in June 1997. She was a former member of the Third United Presbyterian Church, Washington, where she served as a deacon, a Sunday School teacher and was a member of the Women's Society. She was currently a member of the Meadow Lands United Methodist Church; was the treasurer of the Women's Society; and was a member of the Open Doors for the Handicapped. She was a 1954 graduate of Trinity High School. Surviving are two sons, Richard E. Nicholls of Bloomington, Ill., and Jeffrey L. Nicholls of Merrillville; two brothers, Paul Reynard of St. Louis, Mo., and George Reynard of Washington; two sisters, Shirley Reynard of Washington and Ruth Pilgun of Washington; two grandchildren, Justin Cubbage and Dawn Brock; and two great-grandchildren.
