William Budkey Jr., 69, of 11 Tunnel Street, West Alexander, died Monday, July 13, 1998. He lived in West Alexander for the past five years. Prior to that, he lived in the Canonsburg area and North Carolina for 6 years. Prior to his retirement in 1987, he was employed by General Ionics as a steelburner. Mr. Budkey served with the activated 28 Infantry Division of the Pennsylvania National Guard during the Korean War. Surviving are his wife, Sylvia Zrimsek Budkey; one son, Barry L. Budkey of West Alexander; one step-son, Dale Cooper of Fort Worth, Texas; one brother, Joseph Budkey; four sisters, Joan Smith of Strabane, Peggy Tornabene of Fairmont, W.Va., Doris Devich of Beaver and Connie Matrogran of Canonsburg; one grandson; six step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
