Richard J. (Dick) Busbey, 78, of Mattoon, Ill., formerly of Washington, died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, July 19, 1998, in his home. In 1985, Mr. Busbey retired from Blaw-Knox, where he worked as manager of purchasing. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Mattoon Golf and Country Club, where he also served as past director. On July 2, 1946, in Washington, he married Jeanne Warrick, who died in 1973. On May 10, 1974, in Mattoon, he married Sylvia Spitz, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Becky Crites, Carolyn Suerdieck and Janet Uphoff, all of Mattoon; eight grandchildren, David, Jane and Joe Crites, Bryan and Beth Suerdieck, and Allyson, Sara and Susann Uphoff; and a sister, Virginia Iams of Madison, Wis.
