Thomas J. McMinn, 76, of Jefferson, died Wednesday, July 22, 1998, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg. Mr. McMinn attended Valley Forge Military Academy and Waynesburg College. He served for three years in World War II and one year in the Korean War. Mr. McMinn was a welder-mechanic for Republic Steel Corp.'s Clyde Mine and was a justice of the peace. He was a member of Jefferson American Legion Post 954, Disabled American Veterans Post 123 of Waynesburg and the UMWA. He was an honorary member of Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company. He was affiliated with Rolling Meadows Church of God. On March 23, 1946, he married Betty P. Spitznogle, who died May 23, 1996. Surviving are a daughter, Suzanne B. Herndon of Burlington, N.C.; a brother, Michael R. McMinn of Houston, Texas; and a sister, Frances Coneybeer of Jefferson. Services will be private. Interment will be in Jefferson Cemetery.
