Alice C. Whoolery, 88, of Seventh Street, Mather, died Wednesday, July 22, 1998, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg. Mrs. Whoolery was a homemaker and had resided in Mather since 1922. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Carmichaels. On August 26, 1926, she married James F. Whoolery, who died July 19, 1981. Surviving are three daughters, Betty Horne of Marianna, Faye McIntyre of Waynesburg R.D.1 and Joyce Faddis of Rices Landing R.D.1; a sister, Ruth Myers of Greensburg; a brother, William Steinrich of Salisbury; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Deceased are a daughter, Dorothy Bane; and three sons, James Franklin and Harold Edward Whoolery, and a son who died in infancy.
