James Franklin "Little Frank" Higgins Sr., 72, of Waynesburg R.D.3, died Thursday, July 23, 1998, in his residence following a lengthy illness. He was employed as a pump station engineer and warehouse worker for Peoples Natural Gas for 38 years, four months, before retiring May 1, 1982. He was a member of Fairall United Methodist Church, Whiteley Township, Greene County, and a former member of the church choir. He was also the treasurer of the Greene County Red Fox Chasers Association and was a member of the Pennsylvania State Red Fox Chasers Association. Surviving are three daughters, Mary Jo Helen Shriver of Mt. Morris Star Route, Waynesburg, Lois Elizabeth Higgins of Waynesburg and Katrina Vernon of Mt. Morris; two sons, Joseph W. Higgins of Waynesburg R.D.2 and James F. Higgins Jr. of Waynesburg R.D.3; two sisters, Mary Blair of Waynesburg R.D.3 and Shirley Sanner of Carmichaels; 14 grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He made his home with Vicki Funk. Deceased are his wife, Doris Hildred Phillips Higgins, who died March 14, 1966; one daughter, Margaret Alta Higgins; one sister, Helen Conner; and one grandson, Scott Albert Shriver.
