James Eli Ulery, 92, of Washington, died at 1:04 a.m. Friday, July 24, 1998, in Allegheny University Hospitals-Canonsburg, following a brief illness. Mr. Ulery was a retired employee of Crile Machine Co. of Washington and former employee of Hazel Atlas Glass Plant No. 2 until its closing. He was a member of West Washington United Methodist Church and the men's Bible class of the church. Mr. Ulery was a 1927 graduate of Trinity High School, and he enjoyed gardening and golfing. On June 3, 1934, in Amity, he married Margaret Fritschle Ulery, who died August 10, 1991. Surviving are two sons, James M. Ulery Sr. of Latrobe and Kenneth George Ulery of Washington; two grandsons, Dr. James M. Ulery Jr. and John M. Ulery; a brother, Thomas L. Ulery of Claysville; and two sisters, Dorothy McBride of Washington and Ida Mae Ulery of Hollywood, Fla. Deceased is a sister, Blanche Anderson.
