Robert T. Clawson, 70, of Venetia, died Friday, July 24, 1998, in St. Clair Memorial Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was retired from Pennsylvania-American Water Co. and was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Army. Mr. Clawson was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Finleyville. He also was a member of Moose Lodge 172 of Finleyville, where he was secretary; Canonsburg Lodge 127; District 11 of the Moose, where he served as past president and secretary; and American Legion Post 613 of Finleyville. He was a life member of the Legion of the Moose, where he served as district secretary and received the Pilgrim Degree of Merit; the Hackett Club; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 553. He also was an associate member of Finleyville Volunteer Fire Department and had served as fire chief from 1965 to 1967. Surviving are his wife, Lorraine School Clawson; two sons, Larry J. Clawson of Clairton and James D. Clawson of Houston; two daughters, Kathleen Finney of Forest, Va., and Karen Reffert of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Lenore Adametz and Joann Heckman, both of New Bern, N.C.; a stepfather, Joseph Adametz of New Bern; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
