Marvin Layton Hughes, 73, of Dallas, W.Va., died Monday, July 27, 1998, in his home. Mr. Hughes retired as a night watchman with the West Virginia Department of Highways in Triadelphia. He attended Dallas Community Presbyterian Church and Salem Methodist Church, Majorsville. Mr. Hughes was a member of the Dallas Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ethel Bowman Hughes; two daughters, Nancy Murrin of Dallas and Beverly J. Porter of Triadelphia; a brother, Charles of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a sister, Zelma Caldwell of Claysville; and three grandchildren, Jerry Murrin Jr., Dustin J. Murrin and Jesse A. Porter.
