Sara Ann Chappel, 74, of Sunset Boulevard, Washington, died at 11 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 1998, in her home. She had been in declining health since 1992.

She was born August 18, 1923, in Meadow Lands, a daughter of John "Crabby" Hoeffler Sr. and Margorie Whitfield Hoeffler.
Mrs. Chappel was a homemaker, a member of Meadow Lands Methodist Church and attended Chartiers-Houston High School.
On February 4, 1949, she married James Franklin Chappel, who died October 23, 1966.
Surviving are a son, Franklin Lee Chappel of Washington; a daughter, Barbara Ann Chappel of Washington; and two grandchildren, Christopher Lee and Nathan James Chappel.
Deceased are two brothers, Lee and John Hoeffler Jr.; and a sister, Lucille Chappel.
