William J. Condie

U.S. Navy veteran of World War II
William J. Condie, 73, of New Eagle, died Monday, July 6, 1998, at his home.

He was born February 14, 1925, in New Eagle, a son of Andrew J. and Margaretta Hillman Condie.
Mr. Condie was a member of Transfiguration Church in Monongahela; a member of the American Legion, James C. Ford Post 949 in Dunkirk; Monongahela Turners Club; and the U.S. Navy World War II Armed Guards of Pittsburgh.
He retired as an engineer with Conrail, Shire Oaks, with more than 40 years of service.
Mr. Condie was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathleen Herman of Monongahela and Teresa Simpson of Catlett, Va.; two sons, Patrick Condie of New Eagle and Paul Condie of Donora; seven grandchildren, Bryan, Julie and Kellie Condie, Jason and Jeffrey Herman, and Robert and Carly Mellinger; and two brothers, Jack Condie of Monongahela and Donald Condie of the state of California.
Deceased are his wife, Irene "Butch" Burkhart Condie, who died August 7, 1985; two brothers, Richard and Robert Condie; and two infant sisters, Shirley and Norma Condie.
