Ruby H. Dowdle, 83, of Washington, died at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 1998, in Washington Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born May 4, 1915, in Marion County, W.Va., a daughter of George C. and Reatha Greathouse Hibbs.
Mrs. Dowdle was a 1933 graduate of Washington High School and retired as a secretary for Washington Hospital after many years of service.
She attended Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Washington.
On October 30, 1948, she married Edward R. Dowdle, who died August 7, 1975.
Surviving are a niece and several cousins.
Deceased is a brother, Victor, who died in infancy.
