Ralph R. Palone, 67, of Gooding, Idaho, formerly of Greene County, died Thursday, June 4, 1998, at the Gooding County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Palone was raised and educated in the Carmichaels area and on July 2, 1952, in Accident, Md., he married Paula Sloboda. Mr. Palone served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952 until 1954 and worked in Ohio for Ford Motor Co. for 16 years. He later moved back to Pennsylvania, where he worked as a cement contractor and also operated a nursing home. Afterward, he moved to Texas, where he operated a motel until ill health forced him to retire and move back to Pennsylvania. He moved to Gooding in October 1995 to be near his family. Mr. Palone was also a member of the American Legion in Gooding. Surviving are his wife, Paula; a son, Dino Palone of Roanoke, Va.; a daughter, Karen Ealy of Fairfield, Idaho; five brothers, Steve Palone of Carmichaels, Ernest Palone of Rices Landing, Edward Palone of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Alfred Palone of Rices Landing and Eugene Palone of Florida; two sisters, Virginia Floreak of Carmichaels and Kate Zupanich of Rices Landing; four grandchildren; two foster grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
