Amanda Ellen Williams Gump, 83, of Wana, W.Va., died Thursday, June 11, 1998, at home. She was a retired schoolteacher, having taught for 38 years in Monongalia County Schools. She was a member of the County and State Retired Teachers Association, the Daybrook Church of Christ and the Sunset Rebekah Lodge No. 418 in Brave. Surviving are one son, Jack Gump of Valparaiso, Ind.; two daughters, Patricia F. VanTassel of Millington, Tenn., and Peggy Flynn of Wana; four brothers, Gearl Williams of Fairview R.D.2, W.Va., James "Pete" Williams of New Matamoras, Ohio, William "Dick" Williams of Waynesburg and Fred Williams of Fairview R.D.1, W.Va.; four sisters, Betty Lyons of Libertyville, Ill., Mable McAfee of Spring Hills, Fla., Roxie Tennant of Fairview R.D.2, W.Va. and Jane Wheeler of Huntington, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
